December Book Club: Cam Jansen and the Mystery of the Stolen Diamonds

For December's Book Club, we read Cam Jansen and the Mystery of the Stolen Diamonds by David A. Adler. Anne, Ella, Keira, Lucy, Luke, Matt, and Stella were present.

We did some worksheets from www.penguin.com/camjansensleuthsquad, which were really fun and informative. We talked a lot about the structure of a mystery and the importance of creating clear characters and plot lines. But mostly, we talked about the fun parts of Cam Jansen and how the "bad guys" were so bad!

The members of Book Club seemed to really enjoy this book, with one reader giving it a "2" (only so-so), one reader giving it a "1" (I really liked this book) and five readers giving it a "5" (this is one of the best books I've read!). Looks like, generally, another winner for our group!

For January's Book Club, we will be meeting on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 (!) and reading Ivy + Bean by Annie Barrows and Sophie Blackall.

When seven-year-old Bean plays a mean trick on her sister, she finds unexpected support for her antics from Ivy, the new neighbor, who is less boring than Bean first suspected.

Please be sure to register for Book Club at the Circulation Desk and pick up your copy (ordered from one of the many state-wide libraries just for us!) of the book. We look forward to seeing you in January.
