November Book Club: My Father's Dragon

For the November Grades 1-2 Book Club, we read My Father's Dragon by Ruth Stiles Gannett.  Annie, Ella, Keira, Luke, Matthew, and Stella were present.

We answered questions using worksheets, using single words, sentences and pictures. We had a fun conversation about the book and all of the things that happened in the story. And ate popcorn.

Some of the questions and responses:

-Q: Why did the cat and Elmer want to go to Wild Island? A: They wanted to help the dragon who was the wild animals' servant.
-Q: If you could fly on a dragon, where would you go? A: The Land of Kindness. A: Candyland. A: Fighting World. A: Wishland.
-Q: Would you ever go to Wild Island? A: No. A.: I'd go to save the dragon. A: I go camping so this would be easy and cool.

Please join us on Wednesday, December 6 at 3:00 p.m. for the next Grades 1-2 Book Club. We will be reading Cam Jansen and the Mystery of the Stolen Diamonds by David A. Adler.

"A fifth-grader with a photographic memory and her friend Eric help solve the mystery of the stolen diamonds."

Copies of the book will be available behind the Circulation Desk. Please be sure to register so that Miss Lisa knows how many snacks to buy!
